Ansonia Racine Mantel

E-mail this product to a friend

Circa 1900, Ansonia cast metal figural clock, identified as model “Racine” by Ly.  The case is spelter and finished in a bronze Verdi, although the finish has aged.  The clock has a scholar with a book balanced on his knee, seated on an elaborate stool, with scroll feet on the base of the clock.   The dial is cream color porcelain in mint condition.  The bottom of the dial reads “Manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Company New York United States of America”.

The movement is 8-day spring driven and strikes on a coiled gong on the hour and half hour.  The movement is stamped Ansonia Clock Co. with the Ansonia insignia (New York).

We are a full service clock shop and do all our own repairs.  The movement, original to this clock, has been professionally restored; disassembled, cleaned, pivots resurfaced and polished, bushings were necessary, lubricated and thoroughly checked out.  Each clock comes with instructions for care and handling.

Dimensions of the clock measures:

11” h x 14” w x 6-1/2” d.
